Humble Games announced last week that its roguelike deckbuilder Slay the Spire would be releasing on Google Play today, just over six months after its release on iOS last year.
Slay the Spire is arriving on Android on February 3rd! Which character will you ascend the Spire as first? #slaythespire pic.twitter.com/LCSVDAqkhB— Humble Games (@PlayHumbleGames) January 27, 2021Developed by MegaCrit, the game has you crafting a unique deck made up of hundreds if cards to play during battle. Selecting cards that synergise well together allows you to climb the spire more efficiently, and this is where the roguelike elements come into play. Each journey upwards results in changes to layouts and enemy placement, making Slay the Spire a fun title for replayability.

This means you can choose to take paths that are risky or safe, and collect randomised rewards along the way that help you to climb the spire with as little pushback as possible. There are even different bosses that can make an appearance, ensuring that your experience is varied each time you play.

Slay the Spire was originally released on PC in 2017 as an early access title, where it received regular updates such as new characters, level variations and Steam Workshop support before gearing up for a full release in 2019. Since then, it has also arrived on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and now Android. Dann reviewed the game on iOS last year, calling it a "genre defining classic" and where the "use of the touch-screen is fantastic".

This one is a must-have for fans of roguelikes and deckbuilders. You can download Slay the Spire later today from the Google Play Android store, where it’ll be a paid title costing $9.99. It’s also available on the iOS App Store for the same price.
If you enjoy card games, be sure to check out our favourite ones on iOS.

A PEACOCK spreading its gorgeous tail mocked a Crane that passed by, ridiculing the ashen hue of its plumage and saying, "I am robed, like a king, in gold and purple and all the colors of the rainbow; while you have not a bit of color on your wings." "True," replied the Crane; "but I soar to the heights of heaven and lift up my voice to the stars, while you walk below, like a cock, among the birds of the dunghill."

Lost Horizon somewhat ironically got lost on its way to the App Store. Where did it go? No one knows (*dramatic piano chord*).

It was supposed to come out in July but now it's been revealed that it'll be out this month instead. To be half-precise, we're told it'll be "mid-November."

An Android version will follow "shortly after." Yeah, it's all a bit vague still but we're assured it's really on its way (as long as it doesn't skip down an unknown alleyway and end up in the rain forest again or something).

Anyway, if you need a recap, this is a point-and-click adventure that came out in 2010 and went down quite a treat at the time.

It has you following Fenton Paddock as he attempts to track down lost scientists in the highlands of Tibet while Nazi occultists do the same.

It takes place across Hong Kong, Tibet, and Morocco, has plenty of riddles and puzzles, oh, and you get to hate Nazis once again.

We'll let you know if and when it does finally come out in the next week or two (hopefully).
